H appy Birthday Chad!

It was a rainy March morning when I left home to photograph Crystal and David’s wedding. I thought I’d be getting my socks wet for sure but the wedding gods must have been feeling good because the rain stopped and the clouds started to clear. The rain held off just long enough to get all the photos we needed and to get to the reception in time for the party.

The ceremony was held at Millers Point reserve followed by the reception right next door on the roof of the Park Hyatt which was prefect for their intimate wedding.

Crystal and David thank you for taking a chance on me and I hope you’re happy with the results!

the family goes surfing

April 27, 2011

Last week down on the south coast of NSW the Surplice family went surfing. We’re not the best surfers, in fact the last time I even attempted to surf was 18 months ago, when we all went surfing together last time. This time we strapped the boards to the roof and heading for the ‘sandmines’ break. The last time we were all at this particular spot was over 10 years ago.

Dad lasted about 10 minutes in the water before I had a crack on his long board. Luke stayed out there and caught about 2 ways in th 90 mins he was in the water! Even though there are no shots of me I think I definitely hold the Surplice family surfing title with at least 3 waves!

Anzac Day

April 26, 2011

Yesterday was Anzac day, and it’s my favourite day of the year for a few reasons. (1) We get a day off work (2) 2-up (3) My favourite footy teams play (4) beer with mates…..

….but most importantly we get to thank the brave Aussies who served their countries and remember all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting battles in far away places.

One of those people who served their country in WWII is our very own Pop. Yesterday he donned his medals and proudly wore them down at the Camden Anzac day march.

We were woken by a storm at about 3am during the week at Merry Beach. It wasn’t until Harry stirred at 4am that I realised that the storm was still rumbling away just off the coast. I’ve wanted to take pictures of a thunder storm for a long long time so I threw on the ugg boots, grabbed the camera and headed straight for the beach.

I didn’t think I’d be gone long but before I knew it the sun was up and it was time to go back to bed. Here are a couple of shots from the morning.
